Executive Director, The John Howard Society of Hamilton, Burlington and Area

As Executive Director of the John Howard Society of Hamilton, Burlington & Area, Mr. Lane oversees the development and delivery of community-based services for Youth, Adult, Seniors and Families who may be at risk of, or have come into conflict with, the law.

The not-for-profit charitable organization has over the past 65 years worked collaboratively with many community partners including Neighbourhood Associations, local Boards of Education, Police Services and /Stakeholders in the Criminal Justice System. The agency provides a comprehensive suite of services and programs that focus on prevention, intervention and reintegration. All models of services reflect “Best Practices” and are based on ‘Applied Research’ utilizing a client focused asset based approach.

Mr. Lane has worked in education, social services and corrections and holds a Bachelor Arts in Social Sciences from University of Guelph, a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Clinical Behavioral Sciences from McMaster University, and an Advanced Diploma in Human Resource Management from the University of Toronto. Amongst a number of community interests, he is Vice President of the Ontario Bail Association, Member of the Human Resources Professionals Association and is an Executive Member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Football League Alumni Association and the Canadian Football League Support Fund.
