Dr. Robert Dimand

Dr. Dimand received his BA in Economics and History from McGill University and his MA, M Phil, and PhD, Economics, from Yale University.  In 1991, following an assistant professorship at Carleton University and an associate professorship at Brock University, Dr. Dimand was appointed full professor of economics at Brock University, where he chaired the department from 1998-2003.  Since 2008 he has also been an Adjunct Professor of Economics at McMaster.  His visiting and invited professorships have included appointments at Yale University, Universite de Burgogne, and Universite Pantheon-Assas, Paris.  A member of the editorial boards of several noted economics journals, Dr Dimand is currently President of the History of Economics Society.  An expert in a wide variety of topics within his field, Dr, Diamand has presented at conferences throughout North America and Europe and in Israel and Australia.

In 2012 Dr Dimand received the “Faculty of Social Sciences Award for Excellence in Teaching” at Brock University and was the recipient of the “Making a Difference Award”, Brock University Services for Students with Disabilities, in 2007.

Widely published in peer-reviewed journals and much in demand as an editor of respected volumes of essays on topics that include Women in Economics and the Origins of International Economics, Dr Dimand is also the author of The Origins of the Keynesian Revolution, Aldershot, UK: Edward Elgar Publishing, and Stanford, CA: Stanford University Press, 1988; paperback, Edward Elgar, 1992; and, with M.A Dimand, A History of Game Theory, Vol. I, From the Beginnings to 1945, London and New York: Routledge, 1996.
