Dr. Lynn McDonald
Lynn McDonald is University Professor Emerita at the University of Guelph. She did her first degree at the University of British Columbia and a PhD at the London School of Economics. She has an honorary doctorate from York University. She is currently director of the Collected Works of Florence Nightingale, published by Wilfrid Laurier University Press, 16 volumes, of which 15 have appeared.
McDonald earlier published three volumes on sociological theory, two books on criminology and one on the New Democratic Party, plus numerous articles and chapters. She is a former member of Parliament, and former president of the National Action Committee on the Status of Women (then Canada’s largest women’s organization). She is an active environmentalist, most recently as a co-founder of JustEarth: A Coalition for Environmental Justice and a member of the board of directors of the Climate Action Network of Canada.
