Dr. Joseph Wong
Joseph Wong is Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto. He is also the Director of the Asian Institute at the Munk School of Global Affairs. Dr. Wong’s research focuses on public policy and political economy in East Asia. He regularly contributes to a broad range of international journals, and his latest book is Betting on Biotech: Innovation and the Limits of Asia’s Developmental State (published by Cornell University Press). Dr Wong received his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001 and has been a visiting scholar at Harvard University, Seoul National University and the Taiwan Institute for National Policy Research. He was also recently elected Senior Member of St. Antony’s College, University of Oxford.
An extremely well-informed and widely-traveled speaker, Dr Wong also has an engaging sense of humour.
