Dr. Chris Patterson
Chief of Geriatric Services Hamilton Health Sciences and Professor, Division of Geriatric Medicine, McMaster University
Dr Patterson left England after graduating from King’s College Hospital Medical School (University of London), and worked as a General Practitioner in Northern Ontario, before specializing in Internal Medicine and then Geriatric Medicine.
He served on the Canadian Task Force on Preventive Health Care from 1987-2005 and on each of the Canadian Consensus Conferences on Dementia, most recently in 2012-13. He has been a member of the Institute of Aging Advisory Board, the editorial boards of the CPS and Canadian Journal on Aging. He has authored or contributed to more than scientific150 publications.
He joined the faculty of McMaster University in 1982, where he is a Professor of Medicine. He maintains an active practice in Geriatric Medicine, based at Hamilton Health Sciences. He exercises regularly.
