Dr. Anthony Ruocco
Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Program in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto Scarborough
Dr. Ruocco is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology and Program in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto Scarborough. He also holds academic appointments at the Centre for Addiction & Mental Health and the Hospital for Sick Children. Dr. Ruocco is a licensed psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. His research uses brain imaging to understand the neurobiology of severe mental illness, especially borderline personality disorder (BPD). His current studies focus on identifying neural markers in adolescents and adults with BPD and their biological relatives, and he is studying the utility of these markers to predict the outcomes of psychological and brain stimulation treatments for suicidal and self-harming individuals with BPD. Dr. Ruocco is the recipient of several national and international awards, including from the Province of Ontario’s Ministry of Research and Innovation, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
